Chandigarh, Jan 16 (NationPress) Former Haryana Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday stated that the ruling BJP in the state has directed the youth towards a future marked by unemployment, crime, and drug abuse.
Hooda highlighted that 5,700 young individuals have submitted applications for just 13 positions of peon and chowkidar in a court located in Sirsa.
“It is astonishing that for this recruitment, which only necessitates a Class VIII education, candidates with qualifications such as BA, B. Tech, B. Com, B. Pharmacy, BCA, MA, MBA, MSc, MCom, MCA, and even MPhil have applied. This situation clearly indicates the dire state of unemployment in Haryana,” he remarked.
The two-time Chief Minister asserted that while the Congress once transformed the state into a job provider, the BJP has unfortunately made it the leading state in unemployment.
“As a consequence of unemployment, graduates, postgraduates, MPhil holders, and even those with PhDs are willing to accept low-skilled jobs such as sweeper, peon, and watchman in private sectors, courts, and Kaushal Rojgar Nigam. A staggering 39,990 graduates and 6,112 postgraduates applied for the sweeper position in Kaushal Nigam. In total, 3.95 lakh young individuals queued for the sweeper jobs,” he stated.
Previously, a similar trend was observed during the recruitment of six peon positions in a court in Panipat, where 10,000 applicants included BA, MA, MPhil, PhD, B Tech, and M Tech graduates.
In total, 18 lakh unemployed youth applied for 18,000 Group-D positions announced by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC), while 25 lakh applied for 6,000 clerk positions.
“According to data from the CMIE (Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy) and the government body NSSO, these statistics confirm that Haryana holds the top position in unemployment,” Hooda remarked.
The Congress leader expressed concern that the youth of Haryana are either fleeing the state or the country in search of better opportunities.
“During the tenure of the Congress, coaching centers flourished in every neighborhood for job preparation, but now immigration offices are sprouting in every locality,” he added.
