Doha, June 23 (NationPress) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar has declared a temporary suspension of air traffic as a precautionary step following Iran's retaliatory strikes on US military installations in Qatar.
In a statement, the foreign ministry emphasized, “In light of our commitment to safeguarding the well-being of our citizens, residents, and visitors, we have decided to halt air navigation within our airspace as part of a broader set of precautionary measures triggered by recent regional events.”
The ministry reassured the public that official agencies are diligently observing the situation, assessing developments in collaboration with both regional and international allies, and will keep the public informed through official channels.
It was reiterated that the security and safety of all individuals present in Qatar is of utmost importance, and the state will not hesitate to implement any necessary preventive and protective actions.
Previously, reports indicated that Iran launched six missiles targeting US military bases located in both Iraq and Qatar.
According to various media outlets, this operation was dubbed “Annunciation of Victory.” Fortunately, the missile attack on the US bases in Qatar resulted in no significant damage, as the American Patriot missile defense systems effectively intercepted the Iranian missiles.
