Jerusalem, June 21 (NationPress) - The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Saturday that they successfully targeted and killed three high-ranking commanders in Iran overnight.
One of the individuals was Saeed Izadi, who served as the commander of the Palestine Corps within the Quds Force, a segment of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The IDF reported that Izadi was eliminated during an airstrike in Qom province.
Izadi played a crucial role as a liaison between Iran and Hamas and was allegedly killed while coordinating efforts to bolster financial support from Iran to Hamas for their operations against Israel.
The statement from the IDF indicated, "Izadi was a key architect behind the October 7th massacre and was among the few individuals privy to the plans beforehand."
In a different report, the IDF confirmed that their air force also took out Behnam Shahriyari, who commanded the Quds Force's weapons transfer unit in western Iran.
Shahriyari was noted for overseeing the "transfer of weaponry from Iran to its proxies" throughout the Middle East, with the IDF claiming he facilitated the movement of hundreds of millions of dollars annually to various terrorist groups via a complex network of shell companies and intermediaries.
His elimination occurred over 1,000 kilometers from Israel while he was traveling in western Iran, marking a significant setback for the terrorist groups operating near Israel, which have been severely impacted by IDF actions during the ongoing conflict.
Earlier that same day, the IDF had also reported the elimination of Aminpour Joudaki, the commander of the second unmanned aerial vehicle brigade of the IRGC Air Force, in southwestern Iran.
The IDF claimed that Joudaki played a key role in orchestrating numerous drone attacks aimed at Israeli targets from the vicinity of Ahvaz in southwestern Iran, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
Meanwhile, Israeli fighter jets targeted missile storage and launch sites in central Iran shortly after five missiles were fired from Iran towards central Israel, although no casualties were reported.
As of now, there has been no confirmation from the IRGC regarding the deaths of the commanders.
