Jerusalem, Oct 13 (NationPress) On Monday, two members of the Knesset were quickly removed by ushers as they attempted to interrupt US President Donald Trump's speech at the Israeli Parliament.
Shortly after Trump began his address, the two members stood up with signs in hand.
Trump commended the ushers for their swift action in expelling Knesset members Ayman Odeh and Ofer Cassif from the chamber after they displayed signs during his remarks.
This special session of the Knesset was held to honor the President of the USA on a day when Hamas released the remaining hostages taken during the attacks on October 7, 2023.
The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) announced the return of 13 hostages to Israel.
Trump remarked, "People will remember this as the moment when everything started to change for the better. It will be the golden age of Israel and the Middle East," while also expressing gratitude to the Arab nations involved in the peace agreement.
Following the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, Trump was met with a standing ovation during his Knesset address.
Earlier that day, Hamas had declared it would release 20 "living Israeli captives" as part of the initial phase of the Gaza ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.
"The agreement achieved is the result of our people's resilience and the determination of its fighters. We affirm our commitment to the agreement and its timelines as long as the occupation abides by it," stated Hamas' Al-Qassam Brigades.
They also noted, "The occupation could have freed most of its captives alive months ago but chose to delay."
