Kuwait City, Feb 8 (NationPress) The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya has reiterated the nation's firm stance against the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, emphasizing the critical need for a two-state solution.
Al-Yahya expressed to reporters during a diplomatic meeting in Kuwait that "the matter of displacement is not open for negotiation."
He stated, "The Palestinian people alone determine their own destiny, and we remain steadfast in this position at both the Gulf and Arab levels."
A special Arab summit is scheduled to convene in Cairo in late February or early March to address the issue of "Gaza displacement," he added, with the precise date being finalized in collaboration with other Arab states, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
On Thursday, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry released a statement on the social media platform X, expressing support for the Palestinians' rightful cause and their legitimate aspiration to establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, founded on the borders from 1967.
Kuwait firmly condemns "Israeli settlement policies, the annexation of Palestinian territories, and the displacement of the Palestinian people from their homeland, as these actions represent a blatant violation of international law and pertinent UN Security Council resolutions, jeopardizing regional security and stability," the statement asserted.
Kuwait's declaration came in response to a controversial suggestion made by US President Donald Trump on Tuesday, proposing that the United States take control of the Gaza Strip and relocate its inhabitants to Egypt and Jordan.
Following Trump's comments, numerous Arab and Muslim nations swiftly voiced their disapproval of the notion of displacing Gazans from their homeland.
