Libya Endorses National Plan for Achieving Food Self-Sufficiency

Tripoli, Dec 9 (NationPress) The Prime Minister of Libya, Abdul-Hamed Dbeibah, has officially endorsed the National Food Security Strategy 2025-2035, according to a statement released by the Libyan government.

This comprehensive strategy comprises 174 projects and 65 programs aimed at ensuring food security across the nation, as reported by Xinhua news agency, citing the government's announcement.

During the approval ceremony, Dbeibah emphasized that food security stands as a paramount national priority and a crucial foundation for both economic and social stability. He noted that the strategy serves as a proactive response to significant challenges currently confronting Libya, as indicated in the announcement.

The government is dedicated to allocating the essential resources and support necessary for the effective execution of this strategy, which seeks to bolster local production, attain food self-sufficiency, and establish a sustainable food system, the announcement further stated.

Additionally, the Prime Minister urged for a collaborative effort between the government and private sectors to ensure the successful implementation of the strategy.
