In collaboration with the High Commission of India in Kuala Lumpur and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in Malaysia, the mission organized an event titled 'Arise, Awake' at the Penang Institute that attracted over 150 attendees from various sectors, including children from local Tamil schools and representatives from the media.

This event marked the second in a series of 25 planned activities initiated by the Ramakrishna Mission Malaysia, guided by its President, Swami Supriyananda. The first event, named 'Be and Make', took place in Kuala Lumpur on January 12.

The event featured Y B Dato Seri Sundarajoo Somu, the Penang State EXCO (State Minister) for Housing and Environment, who served as the chief guest. The Indian High Commissioner B N Reddy welcomed the participants and praised Swami Supriyananda for his visionary leadership spanning over 15 years.

During his speech, Reddy recognized the efforts of the Ramakrishna Mission Malaysia in organizing such events and its unyielding dedication to the spiritual and social welfare of mankind.

In Malaysia, Swami Vivekananda's principles are upheld through the Ramakrishna Mission, which has branches nationwide. The mission is also committed to character building and the notion of universal brotherhood, making it accessible to individuals from various backgrounds.
