New Delhi, Nov 27 (NationPress) The Congress party has launched a fierce critique of the BJP, accusing them of “outrageous falsehoods” and “extreme hypocrisy” regarding the recent technical failure on ‘X’ that briefly displayed inaccurate account locations for numerous users, including opposition figures.
During a press briefing at the All India Congress Committee headquarters, Supriya Shrinate, the Congress Chairperson for Social Media and Digital Platforms, asserted that the BJP is intentionally trying to ignite a fake controversy to distract the public from critical issues such as “vote theft”, the deaths of Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and electoral roll manipulation.
“The product head of X has already confirmed that the incorrect locations were the result of a technical error that is currently being addressed. Yet, the BJP, in its desperation, has branded Congress leaders as ‘anti-national’ for a glitch that affected their own accounts,” she stated.
Shrinate highlighted that the actual aim was to quell the rising public discontent on social media concerning significant matters being overlooked by mainstream media, including the alarming statistic of 26 BLOs losing their lives in the past 20 days due to immense work pressure amid the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, among other national and international concerns.
Shrinate also challenged the astonishing 93 percent strike rate of the ruling alliance in Bihar, despite being in power for two decades, labeling it as clear evidence of “vote theft”, while criticizing the Election Commission’s silence regarding discrepancies in Maharashtra.
“The BJP is unsettled by the inquiries raised by the public on social media. This trivial ‘foreign location’ charade is merely a cheap ploy to undermine those voices,” she added.
Senior Congress figure Pawan Khera previously clarified that many leaders utilize VPN (virtual private network) services, which can also lead to location inaccuracies.
The Congress party is committed to continuously exposing what they describe as the BJP’s “diversion tactics” while demanding accountability regarding electoral transparency and alleged voter list manipulation.
