Moscow/New Delhi, Sep 17 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed his gratitude to his "friend" Russian President Vladimir Putin for the birthday phone call and kind wishes on his 75th birthday, highlighting India's dedication to further fortifying the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between the two nations.
"Thank you, my friend, President Putin, for your phone call and warm wishes on my 75th birthday. We are devoted to enhancing our Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership. India is prepared to contribute all possible efforts towards a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict," PM Modi shared on X following his conversation with Putin.
Earlier, President Putin had conveyed his birthday greetings to Prime Minister Modi, commending his efforts in reinforcing the bilateral relationship between New Delhi and Moscow.
Wishing the Prime Minister well, Putin remarked, "Your leadership has garnered immense respect from your compatriots and considerable prestige on the global stage. Under your leadership, India has achieved remarkable outcomes in social, economic, scientific, and technological domains."
The Russian President applauded PM Modi's endeavors in strengthening the bilateral relationship and appreciated the "close comradely" ties between the two nations.
"You play a significant personal role in enhancing our privileged strategic partnership and fostering mutually beneficial cooperation in various sectors," he stated.
"I value our close relations and we will undoubtedly continue our constructive dialogue and collaboration on pressing bilateral, regional, and international matters," Putin added.
Recently, PM Modi and Putin met in China during the SCO Summit held in Tianjin.
During their discussions, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to fortifying the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership and addressed regional and global issues, including the latest developments regarding Ukraine.
Prime Minister Modi reiterated his support for recent initiatives aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine and stressed the importance of hastening a ceasefire and achieving a lasting peace settlement.
