Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt), Oct 13 (NationPress) Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi during the Gaza Peace Summit taking place in Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday.
"It was an honor to engage with His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi of Egypt at the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm El Sheikh. Egypt and India enjoy a robust and dynamic strategic partnership. The Summit highlighted the global commitment to peace and dialogue. India reiterates its steadfast dedication to peace, stability, and lasting security in the Middle East," Singh shared on X.
The Minister arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Sunday to represent India at the Summit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed support for the release of Israeli hostages, praising the "unwavering peace efforts" of US President Donald Trump and the strong resolve of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.

Their freedom is a testament to the courage of their families, the persistent peace efforts of President Trump, and the steadfast resolve of Prime Minister Netanyahu. Earlier in the day, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed that all 20 remaining living Israeli hostages had been freed by Hamas and returned to Israeli authorities following over two years in captivity in Gaza.
"Today, after seven hundred and thirty-eight days, the last 20 living hostages have returned home. This is a pivotal moment belonging to the people of Israel and all those who uphold humanity," remarked IDF spokesperson Effie Defrin, as the nation celebrated the hostages' return on the eve of Simchat Torah.
India has strongly condemned the terror attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, and the loss of civilian lives in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.
