Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jerusalem, Feb 26 (NationPress) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Israel as brief yet incredibly productive and emotionally resonant. During a joint press conference following their discussions in Jerusalem, Netanyahu commended PM Modi for his address to the Knesset, Israel's Parliament.
"This visit has been remarkable. An impressive conclusion to an exceptional visit. While it was short, it was immensely productive and deeply moving. I think your speech in the Knesset brought tears to many eyes here in Israel. Since then, we have had the chance to reflect on our shared values and tremendous potential. We observed an exhibition of innovation that exceeds imagination. We discussed collaboration with the incredibly talented individuals from India and our own citizens, and we are turning these discussions into actionable plans," Netanyahu stated.
The Israeli Prime Minister announced that both nations have agreed to organize a Government-to-Government (G2G) meeting, which he believes will significantly enhance the mutual benefits that both countries can offer to each other and to humanity. He praised the Indian government led by PM Modi, calling it "remarkably efficient."
"We have decided to conduct a G2G meeting in India. Once arrangements are made, we aim to include the distinguished ministers present here. I must say to my friend Narendra, your government operates with remarkable efficiency. The achievements you attain with a single minister and ambassador are commendable," Netanyahu remarked.
Highlighting the shared commitment to innovation, he emphasized that Israel and India, being "proud ancient civilizations," are determined to embrace the future.
"Consider precision agriculture. It signifies that we do not just uniformly irrigate a field; we target a specific plant. So why not apply the same principle to education? With advancements in software and AI, we can reach each student—be they boys or girls—and help them unlock their full potential. The limitations of the past no longer bind us. Those who choose to embrace the future will thrive. The future belongs to the innovators, and both Israel and India are committed to this path. We take pride in our rich histories, but we are equally resolved to seize the future together," he stated.
PM Modi is currently on a two-day state visit to Israel. He received a warm welcome from Netanyahu and his wife, Sara Netanyahu, upon his arrival in Tel Aviv on Wednesday. Later, he delivered a special address to the Knesset in Jerusalem—marking the first occasion an Indian Prime Minister has addressed the Israeli parliament.
