Why Did Netanyahu Praise Trump for Strikes on Iran’s Nuclear Facilities?

Tel Aviv, June 22 (NationPress) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday commended US President Donald Trump following synchronized airstrikes targeting Iran’s significant nuclear facilities. He termed the military operation a courageous and historical action that has the potential to transform the future landscape of the Middle East.

In a video statement after the strikes, Netanyahu lauded Trump’s choice to attack Iran's nuclear infrastructure, encompassing the heavily guarded Fordow site, as well as facilities at Natanz and Esfahan. The Israeli Prime Minister reiterated their shared principle: “Peace through strength.”

“Strength is the precursor to peace,” Netanyahu asserted. “This evening, President Trump and the United States exhibited monumental strength. This decisive action will be etched in history.”

Reports indicate that the US military utilized six bunker-buster bombs on the Fordow nuclear site and launched 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles at Natanz and Esfahan, marking what has been deemed a highly successful operation. This mission, reportedly codenamed Rising Lion, aimed to neutralize what the US perceives as imminent nuclear threats from Iran.

“Congratulations, President Trump. Your brave leadership and decision to target Iran’s nuclear sites with the overwhelming might of the United States signifies a turning point,” Netanyahu remarked. “In my view, this action prevents the world’s most perilous regime from acquiring the world’s most dangerous weapons.”

Netanyahu emphasized Israel's role in addressing regional threats but acknowledged that the scale of the US operation surpassed anything other nations could achieve. “History will mark this as the moment a crucial line was drawn. President Trump acted not only for American security but for the safety of the entire globe,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Trump shared on his platform, Truth Social, confirming the airstrikes and stating, “A full payload of bombs was dropped on Fordow… All aircraft are safely returning home.” He deemed the mission a success and praised the American military, asserting, “There is no other force on Earth capable of accomplishing this.”

In his post, Trump underscored that “now is the time for peace” and signaled that he would address the nation at 10 p.m. local time to delve into the operation's details. Characterizing the moment as historic for the US, Israel, and the world, Trump urged Iran to “cease this war” and reevaluate its nuclear ambitions following the military response.
