One Fatality and Seven Injuries Reported Following Small Plane Crash in Brazil

Sao Paulo, Jan 10 (NationPress) A small plane crashed and caught fire near a beach in the popular tourist destination of Ubatuba, located in the southeastern state of Sao Paulo, resulting in one fatality and seven injuries, as reported by the local firefighting services.
The deceased was the pilot, who attempted to land at the Ubatuba regional airport on Thursday. Unfortunately, he was unable to reduce speed, which led to the aircraft breaching the air terminal's security perimeter, according to information from the Xinhua news agency.
The firefighting department indicated that all four passengers aboard the aircraft, consisting of two adults and two minors, were successfully rescued.
Additionally, three bystanders were injured on the promenade of Cruzeiro Beach as a consequence of the incident.
The airport operator, Rede Voa, stated that the weather conditions were unfavorable at the time of the crash, citing rain and a wet runway as contributing factors.
The Brazilian Air Force confirmed that specialists from the Center for the Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents have been dispatched to the site to initiate an inquiry into the cause of the crash.
Previously, on December 24, 2024, a tragic incident resulted in the death of five individuals, including a child, when a plane went down in a residential area of the state of Sao Paulo, according to local media.
Firefighters did not disclose whether all victims were aboard the aircraft, which was described as small in size.
The aircraft was identified as a single-engine RV-10, accommodating a pilot and three passengers.
In another incident earlier in September, at least 14 lives were lost when a small plane crashed in Barcelos, a city located in the Amazonas state of northern Brazil, as reported by local authorities.
According to Amazonas governor Wilson Lima, the victims were all tourists embarking on a fishing trip, with preliminary reports indicating they were all Brazilian nationals.
It was noted that the pilot encountered difficulties locating the runway for landing in Barcelos, a known sport fishing location.
The airline Manaus Aerotaxi, which owns the crashed Embraer EMB 110 Bandeirante—a Brazilian twin-turboprop light transport aircraft—confirmed the accident via a statement on social media.
