Moscow, Jan 27 (NationPress) In a heartfelt message, Russian President Vladimir Putin conveyed his warm wishes to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of India's 77th Republic Day. He emphasized India's prominent position among the foremost global powers and its significant role on the international stage.
“The milestones achieved by your nation in the realms of social, economic, scientific, and technological advancements are acknowledged globally. India genuinely holds its rightful place among the top world powers, earning substantial respect on the global platform,” the message from President Putin stated.
Reflecting on the productive discussions held during his visit to India in December of the previous year, Putin noted that these dialogues reaffirmed the evolving special and privileged strategic partnership between Moscow and New Delhi.
“I firmly believe that through our collaborative efforts, we will continue to enhance bilateral cooperation across all sectors, as well as our joint actions on regional and global matters. This aligns with the aspirations of the peoples of Russia and India and contributes towards establishing a fair multipolar world order,” the Russian President remarked.
“I wish you good health and success, and to all your citizens — happiness and prosperity,” he concluded.
Previously, on December 5, 2025, Prime Minister Modi welcomed President Putin at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, where discussions focused on fortifying bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation across various fields, including economy, defense, and trade.
During a joint press briefing with President Putin after their talks at Hyderabad House, PM Modi expressed that the relationship between the two countries has withstood the test of time. He thanked Putin for his friendship and unwavering dedication to India, while recalling the efforts by the Russian leadership to elevate this bilateral relationship.
“Today, I am pleased to host President Putin at the 23rd India-Russia Summit. His visit arrives at a pivotal moment when our bilateral ties are reaching historic milestones. 25 years ago, President Putin laid the groundwork for our strategic partnership. 15 years ago, in 2010, this partnership was awarded the status of a Special Privileged Strategic Partnership. For the past two and a half decades, he (President Putin) has fostered this relationship with his leadership and vision,” PM Modi noted.
