Moscow, June 16 (NationPress) Russia has officially transferred the bodies of 6,060 fallen soldiers to Ukraine, as announced by Russian Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky on Monday.
Following discussions held in Istanbul on June 2, Russia consented to return the remains of 6,000 deceased Ukrainian soldiers.
Medinsky reported that Russia has also received the bodies of 78 Russian soldiers from the Ukrainian side, according to Xinhua news agency. He stated on Telegram, "Prisoner exchanges are ongoing. Arrangements have been made for the transfer of critically injured servicemen from the frontline."
On June 13, Ukraine successfully repatriated the bodies of 1,200 fallen soldiers as part of a separate swap agreement with Russia.
