Moscow, Sep 10 (NationPress) Russia expressed on Wednesday that the deployment of any foreign military personnel to Ukraine could lead to significant repercussions, a risk that many Western nations appear to overlook.
“As has been the case, there are nations that adopt an aggressive stance, either unaware or unwilling to acknowledge the dire outcomes of such thoughtless actions. Conversely, some countries grasp the situation much more clearly,” stated Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, as reported by the state-run news agency TASS.
This warning followed the announcement of a “coalition of the willing” planning to send military forces to Ukraine.
Recently, French President Emmanuel Macron revealed that 26 nations, predominantly from Europe, have officially committed to dispatching troops as part of a potential ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, though not directly on the front lines.
During a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Macron mentioned that these nations would establish a “reassurance force” capable of deploying troops to Ukraine or providing support on land, at sea, or in the air.
This declaration followed a virtual meeting of the coalition on September 4, co-chaired by Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Approximately 30 countries, mainly European, participated and pledged to deliver security guarantees to Ukraine.
In other developments, concerning the incident of a UAV entering Polish airspace, the Russian Defense Ministry stated it is prepared to engage in discussions with Polish officials.
“No facilities in Poland were intended to be targeted,” the Russian military confirmed.
They clarified that the range of the UAVs, which allegedly crossed into Poland, does not exceed 700 km.
“Nevertheless, we are open to consultations with the Polish Defense Ministry on this issue,” the Russian Defense Ministry reaffirmed.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk labeled the drone incident as a “large-scale provocation.”
“It appears we are encountering a major provocation,” Tusk remarked before an emergency government meeting, as broadcasted by Polish public broadcaster TVP Info.
PM Tusk noted that this was the first instance of “Russian drones being shot down over NATO territory,” while no official reports have yet been released regarding the origin of the UAV wreckage found. According to Tusk, all drones posing a threat were neutralized, and the situation remains under control, with no casualties reported.
