South Korea Plans to Utilize All Available 'Policy Tools' Due to Potential Economic Effects from Trump Administration

Seoul, December 11 (NationPress) - South Korean Finance Minister Choi Sang-mok stated on Wednesday that the government intends to utilize all available policy tools to alleviate any potential economic consequences arising from expected policy modifications under the forthcoming US administration.

Concerns have been mounting regarding possible changes in US trade policy, which may adversely affect South Korea's export-oriented economy, as the second Donald Trump administration is set to begin in late January, as reported by the Yonhap news agency.

"With the inauguration of the new US administration merely 40 days away, we find ourselves in an extraordinary situation that necessitates extraordinary measures," Choi remarked during a meeting with ministers responsible for economic affairs.

Choi underscored that the government will mobilize all available policy tools to safeguard domestic enterprises.

He outlined plans to inject capital into stabilizing supply chains, especially in critical sectors like semiconductors and batteries, in addition to executing a comprehensive customs policy package.
