Syrian Military Reports Elimination of Over 400 Militants in Escalated Offensive

Damascus, Dec 2 (NationPress) The Syrian military reported on Monday that it has escalated its operations against insurgent groups in the northern regions of Aleppo and Idlib, claiming to have eliminated over 400 militants within the past 24 hours, aided by Russian forces.

According to a statement from the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces, concentrated air, missile, and artillery bombardments have led to the destruction of five command centers and seven ammunition depots belonging to the 'terrorists', as reported by Xinhua news agency.

"In the last 24 hours, our armed forces, in collaboration with allied Russian forces operating in Syria, have continued targeted aerial, missile, and artillery strikes on terrorist positions, their storage facilities, supply routes, and movement paths in the outskirts of Aleppo and Idlib," the statement indicated.

The military emphasized that over 400 militants of various foreign nationalities were neutralized during precise operations conducted in recent hours.

Syrian forces have commenced advancements on multiple fronts in the outskirts of Aleppo, Hama, and Idlib provinces "to encircle the terrorists, drive them out from the territories they have occupied, fully secure these areas, and establish new positions in preparation for the upcoming assault," the statement added, noting that further military reinforcements are being dispatched to the front lines.

The military command dismissed claims that rebel factions have taken control of towns and villages, branding such statements as 'false propaganda.'
