Washington, June 17 (NationPress) US President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that the United States possesses "complete and total control" of the airspace over Iran amidst a fierce aerial conflict involving Israel and Iran that commenced on Friday.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump acknowledged that while Iran has effective sky tracking systems and a significant quantity of defense equipment, it pales in comparison to the American-made, designed, and produced technological advancements.
"We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran. Although Iran may possess quality sky tracking systems and extensive defensive capabilities, they do not measure up to the American-made innovations. No one surpasses the good ol' USA," Trump asserted in his post.
Earlier in the day, Trump departed from the ongoing Group of Seven (G7) Summit in Canada to return to Washington.
Trump clarified that his premature exit from the summit was unrelated to the current Israel-Iran conflict.
"The attention-seeking President Emmanuel Macron of France mistakenly claimed that my departure from the G7 Summit in Canada was to return to D.C. to negotiate a 'cease-fire' between Israel and Iran," Trump elaborated in a Truth Social post. "Incorrect! He is unaware of the actual reason for my return to Washington, but it has absolutely nothing to do with a cease-fire. It's much more significant than that. Whether intentionally or not, Emmanuel always gets it wrong. Stay Tuned!" he added.
As tensions escalated between Iran and Israel, Trump urged citizens to evacuate Tehran.
The ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, which began Friday, reached its fifth day on Tuesday. With Israel asserting its intention to dismantle Iran's nuclear program, hostilities have intensified, highlighted by several Iranian missiles launched at Israel.
