US President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced plans to host a major UFC fight event at the White House on June 14, calling it "the greatest show on earth" as he stood alongside some of mixed martial arts' biggest stars in the Oval Office. The event would mark the first time a professional MMA card has been staged at the presidential residence.

What the Event Will Look Like

According to Trump, approximately 4,000 seats will be installed directly outside the White House for ticketed spectators, while giant viewing screens are expected to accommodate crowds estimated between 75,000 and 100,000 people in the surrounding area. Trump described it as potentially "the biggest event we've ever had at the White House."

Leading UFC fighters are set to compete on the White House grounds, though a full fight card has not yet been officially announced. Among those present at the Oval Office gathering were Justin Gaethje, Ilia Topuria, Alex Pereira, and Ciryl Gane — a lineup that spans multiple weight classes and nationalities, underscoring the sport's global reach.

Trump's Long History With UFC

Trump repeatedly praised the assembled fighters as "real warriors" and "the greatest fighters in the world." The President also recalled how the UFC once struggled to secure venues in its early years, when the sport was widely viewed as excessively violent.

"They couldn't get any arenas because it was so violent," Trump said. "I was able to give them, I guess, the first four or five fights."

Justin Gaethje credited Trump with playing a pivotal role in bringing UFC into the mainstream. "You gave us a chance to fight in your property," Gaethje told Trump. "I think we'd be 10 years behind if it wasn't for you."

Fighters Reflect on Their Journeys
