The Hague, June 25 (NationPress) US President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that should Iran reconstruct its nuclear facilities, the United States will execute another military strike against it.
Trump made these comments during the ongoing NATO Summit here, responding affirmatively when asked if the US would take action again if Iran resumed its nuclear enrichment activities. He asserted, "Absolutely."
The President emphasized that Washington will not permit Tehran to continue with uranium enrichment, even if it requires military intervention.
"We will not allow that to transpire. Firstly, through military means. I believe we will eventually establish some form of relationship with Iran," he remarked, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
Earlier, Trump vehemently dismissed a recent intelligence report that questioned his administration's assertion that US strikes had “completely and utterly destroyed” Iran’s nuclear enrichment infrastructure.
The report, released by the US Defence Intelligence Agency and covered by CNN and the New York Times, indicated that the strikes merely postponed Iran's nuclear ambitions by a few months, as a significant portion of Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile was moved prior to the strikes.
“Fake news CNN, along with the struggling New York Times, have conspired to undermine one of the most successful military operations ever. Iran's nuclear sites are entirely obliterated! Both outlets are facing backlash from the public,” Trump expressed on Truth Social on Wednesday, criticizing the two media organizations.
In an interview with Fox News, Steve Witkoff, the US President’s Special Envoy to the Middle East, labeled the leaking of the report as “treasonous,” calling for an investigation.
“It goes without saying that leaking such information — no matter the content or source — is unacceptable. It’s treasonous. Therefore, there should be an investigation, and those responsible must be held accountable. Such leaks could endanger lives in the future,” Witkoff stated.
