Washington, Feb 25 (NationPress) US President Donald Trump has once again emphasized his assertion of "concluding eight wars" and stated that "35 million individuals claimed that the Prime Minister of Pakistan would have perished" if he had not intervened during the recent Operation Sindoor initiated by India against terrorist networks.

During his State of the Union speech at the White House on Tuesday (local time), Trump remarked, "In the first ten months, I concluded eight wars, including those in Cambodia, Thailand, Pakistan, and India, which could have led to a nuclear conflict. 35 million people asserted that the Prime Minister of Pakistan would have died without my involvement."

He further claimed to have resolved conflicts in "Kosovo and Serbia, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Congo and Rwanda, as well as the war in Gaza."

Several months ago, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif had informed Trump that 35 million Pakistanis could have lost their lives during Operation Sindoor had he not intervened.

Trump proclaimed that America has experienced "a transformation for the ages" in just one year of his presidency, stating to Congress that the nation has achieved "a change like no other has been witnessed before."

He added, "After just one year, I can say with pride that we have achieved a transformation unlike any other, marking a turnaround for the ages. We will not revert to our previous state just a short time ago," as per excerpts from his State of the Union address obtained by IANS from the White House.

His inaugural State of the Union Address of his second term is anticipated to surpass prior records for the longest such address, with informed sources speculating it could exceed 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Referencing the foundational principles of the United States, he stated, "From 1776 until today, every American generation has stepped forward to uphold life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for the upcoming ones. Now, it is our duty."

He emphasized that his administration is constructing "a nation where every child has the opportunity to aspire higher and progress further—where the government responds to the citizens, not the influential—and where the interests of diligent American citizens are always our foremost and ultimate priority."

Regarding the economy, Trump forecasted ongoing domestic growth. "Looking ahead, factories, jobs, investments, and trillions of dollars will continue to flow into the United States of America—because we finally have a president who prioritizes America First," he stated.

He criticized previous administrations, asserting that "everything was manipulated and rigged to siphon wealth from the industrious, hardworking individuals who sustain our nation."

The President also boasted about progress in lowering drug prices. "I am ending the exorbitant costs of prescription medications. Other presidents attempted to do this, but they never succeeded. They were all talk and no action. I made it happen," he claimed.

On housing policy, Trump mentioned, "Last month, I enacted an Executive Order to prohibit large Wall Street investment firms from acquiring, in large numbers, single-family homes." He requested Congress to make this ban permanent, stating, "Homes are for people, not corporations."

Addressing corruption and alleged fraud, Trump cited Minnesota. "There has been no more shocking example than Minnesota—where members of the Somali community have reportedly taken an estimated $19 billion from the American taxpayer," he stated.

On border and homeland security, he accused Democrats of reducing funding. "At this very moment, Democrats in this chamber have halted all funding for the Department of Homeland Security. They have dismantled the agency responsible for safeguarding Americans from terrorists and murderers," he stated.

"Tonight, I am demanding the full and immediate reinstatement of all funding for the Border Security and Homeland Security of the United States."

He promised to ensure community safety, saying, "dangerous repeat offenders are continuously released by pro-crime politicians time and again."

On foreign policy, Trump asserted, "As President, I will pursue peace whenever possible—but I will never shy away from confronting threats to America where necessary." He also vowed to restore "American security and dominance in the Western Hemisphere," highlighting that "vast areas in our region, including significant parts of Mexico, are under the control of ruthless drug cartels."

Concluding on a patriotic note, he proclaimed, "The Revolution that commenced in 1776 has not concluded—it continues, for the flame of Liberty and Independence still ignites in the hearts of every American Patriot."

The State of the Union is an annual speech delivered by the US President to a joint session of Congress, outlining policy objectives and legislative goals. It garners significant attention both in Washington and internationally, including in India, due to the United States' economic and strategic influence.

Trump’s comments arise amidst intense partisan divisions over immigration, healthcare, housing, and national security. His "America First" agenda has significantly influenced US domestic and foreign policy discussions in recent years, with ramifications for trade, alliances, and global diplomacy.

Point of View

President Trump's claims during his address reflect a bold and assertive stance on international diplomacy. His emphasis on personal involvement in global conflicts raises questions about the implications for future foreign policy and the portrayal of American leadership.
