Washington, March 10 (NationPress) Former President Donald Trump revealed he had a "very productive" discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin, where they addressed the ongoing war in Ukraine and the escalating tensions in the Middle East, as the United States actively conducts military operations against Iran.

During a press briefing in Florida, Trump affirmed the conversation with Putin, noting that both leaders engaged in dialogue about the war in Ukraine before shifting focus to the situation in the Middle East.

"Absolutely. I had a very positive call with President Putin," Trump responded to inquiries. "We had numerous representatives on the line from both our sides, and we spoke at length about Ukraine, which appears to be an ongoing struggle."

Trump indicated that the dialogue also touched upon the personal animosities between President Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, suggesting these tensions are hindering peace efforts.

"There is significant animosity between President Putin and President Zelenskyy, which is making it difficult to find common ground," he stated.

Despite these challenges, Trump characterized the conversation as constructive.

"However, I believe it was a beneficial call regarding that topic, and we subsequently discussed the Middle East situation," he added.

Trump noted that Putin expressed a desire to play a constructive role in the crisis unfolding in the region.

"He wishes to be helpful," Trump remarked. Nevertheless, he emphasized that facilitating the end of the Russia-Ukraine conflict would be a more impactful contribution from Moscow.

"I told him that he could be more advantageous by helping to resolve the Ukraine-Russia war; that would be far more beneficial," he said.

"Nonetheless, we had a very positive exchange, and he aims to be very constructive in his approach."

Trump did not elaborate on any specific proposals that might have been discussed during the call. His comments were made as the United States and Israel continue extensive military operations against Iran, referred to by the administration as Operation Epic Fury.

During the press conference, Trump also highlighted the scale of the military offensive against Iran, stating that thousands of targets had been engaged, resulting in significant degradation of Tehran's military capabilities.

The conversation with Putin occurred during a period of heightened global tensions and increased diplomatic maneuvers among major world powers as the situation in the Middle East escalates.
