Dhaka, Nov 30 (NationPress) In a shocking incident, two individuals were fatally shot by gunmen outside the metropolitan sessions judge court in Khulna, Bangladesh on Sunday, as reported by local media.
Shafiqul Islam, the officer-in-charge of Khulna Sadar police station, confirmed the identities of the victims as Md Fazle Rabbi (Razon) and Hasib Howlader, according to the Bangladesh Bengali daily Prothom Alo. Authorities revealed that Razon had six active cases against him, while Howlader was involved in multiple cases.
Shihab Karim, Assistant Commissioner of the Khulna Metropolitan Police, stated that an investigation has commenced. He remarked, "We have reached the scene and initiated inquiries. We aim to determine who executed the attacks and the motive behind the shooting. Further details will be disclosed as they emerge."
Eyewitness accounts indicated that both victims, who were out on bail, had just appeared in court and were sipping tea near the court's entrance when four to five assailants opened fire. After being shot, the victims collapsed, and the attackers relentlessly assaulted them with machetes. The assailants fled the scene while the two critically injured men were rushed to a hospital.
On November 28, a separate incident occurred where a man was stabbed to death approximately 300 yards from the Kotwali Police Station in Chattogram, Bangladesh. The deceased was identified as Ismail Hossain, a 32-year-old resident of Firingibazar, originally from Lakshmipur, as reported by The Daily Star.
Abdul Karim, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, stated, "He was fatally stabbed by unidentified assailants." A police patrol team found Hossain around 4 a.m. and transported him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An investigation is currently underway regarding this case.
