UNRWA Reports Gaza's Most Severe Civilian Bombardment Since WWII

Gaza, Nov 30 (NationPress) The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) announced that Gaza has undergone the most severe civilian bombardment in the past year since World War II.

It emphasized that the situation of Palestinian refugees continues to be the longest unresolved refugee crisis globally, highlighting that UNRWA was established to provide aid and protection to Palestinian refugees until a fair and enduring resolution is reached, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

The UN agency released this statement to honor the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which is observed every year on November 29.

In response to a Hamas attack that occurred on the southern Israeli border on October 7, 2023, which resulted in approximately 1,200 fatalities and about 250 hostages, Israel has launched a significant military operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

According to health authorities in Gaza, the Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip has escalated to 44,363, as stated in a report on Friday.
