Washington, March 4 (NationPress) A senior US diplomat is set to travel to South Korea this week for discussions concerning the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), according to the State Department, as South Korea is the host for this year's APEC summit.
Ambassador Matt Murray, the US Senior Official for APEC, will make his way to Gyeongju and Seoul in the Republic of Korea (ROK) from March 5-11 to participate in the First Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM1) and other related gatherings for the APEC Korea 2025 hosting year, as stated by the US Department of State in a release.
In the ROK, Ambassador Murray and the US APEC team will focus on advancing economic policies that enhance the United States' safety, strength, and prosperity, the department noted. ROK is an abbreviation for South Korea's formal name, the Republic of Korea, as reported by Yonhap news agency.
