Raipur/Bijapur, Feb 17 (NationPress) In a significant operation, security forces carried out a series of successful missions in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday, dismantling 12 unauthorized Maoist memorials. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts aimed at eliminating Maoist influence and fostering peace in the region, as reported by officials.

During a crucial operation in the Pillur forest area, personnel from the CRPF Battalion discovered seven Maoist memorials situated near the villages of Bade Kakler and Pulgundam. The team established a strong perimeter and conducted an extensive search of the vicinity.

Vigilant soldiers uncovered two beer bottle IEDs filled with cordex wire in close proximity to the Maoist memorials. The Battalion's bomb disposal unit successfully neutralized and destroyed these IEDs on-site.

Subsequently, all seven memorials at these locations were entirely demolished. In another operation within the jurisdiction of Gangaloor police station, CRPF troops also dismantled a towering 12-foot Maoist memorial located in the Mallur forest.

Moreover, during area domination operations by CRPF 222 Battalion in the same police station jurisdiction, security forces eliminated three Maoist memorials near Palanar village and one in Peddakorma village.

These actions are part of a broader strategy to eradicate all symbolic structures, insignia, and remnants of Maoist violence that have been utilized to instill fear in local communities and maintain organizational control over Maoist factions.

Through the systematic identification and legal destruction of these monuments and symbols representing violent ideologies, security forces aim to deliver a strong message against Maoist propaganda and dominance.

The destruction of such structures not only serves to remove physical reminders but also works to dismantle the psychological hold of fear on local populations, reinforcing the legitimate presence of government and administration.

Officials highlighted that these initiatives prevent Maoists from re-establishing symbols of intimidation in the future, thereby nurturing an atmosphere of enduring peace, trust, and development in the Bastar division.

This intensified campaign aligns with the Union government’s unwavering commitment to fully eradicate Naxalism through continuous anti-Maoist operations, ensuring the region is liberated from extremist control and paving the way for progress and security.

Recent weeks have witnessed similar drives resulting in the demolition of numerous memorials across Bijapur, Sukma, and Bastar, supported by local intelligence and strategic planning.
