New Delhi, June 25 (NationPress) Several Union Ministers expressed their admiration on Wednesday for the successful launch of the space mission that transported astronauts from India, Hungary, Poland, and the USA. They emphasized that ISRO astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla carries with him the aspirations of 140 crore Indians.
After a lengthy wait of nearly 41 years, Indian Air Force Group Captain Shukla made history by ascending to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the private Axiom-4 mission.
“This is a historic moment! I wish Group Captain Shukhla great success on his journey to the ISS. 140 crore dreams accompany you into space! Best wishes to you and your team,” said Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on the social media platform X.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari remarked that this is a proud advancement for India as Shukla embarks on the Axiom Mission-4.
“As the second Indian in space after Rakesh Sharma, his venture signifies India’s expanding capabilities in space exploration, driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary reforms. Wishing him success on this significant mission. Jai Hind,” the minister posted on X.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated, “Our Tiranga reaches for the stars.”
“Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla embarks on a momentous journey as the first Indian astronaut to set foot on the ISS via a commercial space initiative. Group Captain Shukla, as you ascend beyond Earth, 140 crore hearts rise alongside you. Wishing the crew a safe and successful mission,” Scindia added.
In his message en route to the ISS, Shukla said, "Namaskar, dear countrymen! What an exhilarating journey! We are back in space after 41 years. It’s an incredible experience. We are orbiting the Earth at a velocity of 7.5 kilometers per second.”
“The Tiranga on my shoulders reminds me that I carry all of you with me. This journey marks not just a step towards the ISS but also towards India's Human Space Programme. I want you all to join me on this journey. Let your hearts swell with pride... Together, let’s advance India’s Human Space Programme. Jai Hind! Jai Bharat,” the Lucknow-born astronaut underscored.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, conveyed via a post on X: “Congratulations Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, you are the inaugural Indian astronaut embarking on a mission to the ISS. Truly a proud moment for India! The growing global collaborations of ISRO, following the reforms initiated by the government led by PM Narendra Modi, have established India as a leading nation in space exploration.”
