Shimla, Oct 24 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, declared on Friday that the Government Senior Secondary School located in Barsar, within the Hamirpur district, will gain CBSE affiliation starting from the next academic session. To date, 20 government schools have achieved this recognition from the CBSE.
While addressing a crowd in Barsar, the Chief Minister revealed plans to upgrade the local Barsar hospital to a 100-bed facility and mentioned an investment of Rs 300 crore for the establishment of a Cancer Institute at the Hamirpur Medical College.
Additionally, he announced the construction of an indoor stadium and a new parking facility in Barsar town. The commencement of MA and M.Com classes in the local government college was also disclosed, along with plans to install solar lights and high mast lighting in gram panchayats and the main market area.
CM Sukhu indicated that Rs 100 crore is allocated for the creation of seven specialized departments within the Medical College and Hospital in Hamirpur. All roads in the district are undergoing a double-laning process, with a budget of Rs 37 crore earmarked for the Saloni-Deotsidh road.
Furthermore, he stated that Rs 96 crore is being invested to enhance the roads in the Barsar Assembly. An amount of Rs 65 crore has been sanctioned for beautifying the renowned Baba Balak Nath shrine and its surroundings.
CM Sukhu criticized the previous BJP government, mentioning that they scarcely provided funds for the mini-secretariat building in Barsar. “Our government has allocated Rs 16.50 crore to complete the mini-secretariat, which was finished with a total expenditure of Rs 17.45 crore.”
In a strong rebuke of the BJP, the Chief Minister claimed that during their tenure, the BJP constructed buildings worth Rs 1,000 crore under the guise of development, many of which remain unoccupied. He also pointed out that 600 schools were opened just before general elections without ensuring adequate teaching staff.
He remarked, “The quality of education declined under the BJP’s rule, causing the state’s ranking to drop to 21st position.”
