The construction of this project commenced in October 2023 and was completed in November 2024.
The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Ltd (HPSEBL) has signed a pact to buy the electricity generated from this solar initiative.
This project incorporates 1,364 solar panels and includes robust safety features such as lightning and fire safeguards, alongside an earthing and bonding system for electrical safety.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the administration is actively supporting green energy initiatives and has devised a comprehensive plan to exploit solar power.
He mentioned that seven solar projects with a total capacity of 72 megawatts will be allocated shortly.
Furthermore, surveys and assessments are in progress for eight projects with an overall capacity of 325 megawatts.
For the first time, the government is advancing towards establishing 200 panchayats as “Green Panchayats” by installing 200-kilowatt ground-mounted solar facilities. Sukhu noted that the 32-megawatt Pekhubela solar project in the Una district was opened to the public on April 15, 2024.
Between April and October 2024, this project generated 34.19 million units of electricity in a span of six and a half months, accruing Rs 10.16 crore.
Additionally, a five-megawatt solar project in Bhanjal, Una, was inaugurated on November 30, 2024, while the 10-megawatt Aghlaur solar energy project is anticipated to be completed soon.
The Chief Minister stated the government’s goal is to transform the state into the first 'Green Energy State' in India by 2026, ensuring ecological preservation.
