Amaravati, June 22 (NationPress) Following the Yogandhra event in Visakhapatnam on the 11th International Day of Yoga, which established a new Guinness World Record, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stated that this accomplishment is a shared victory for all citizens of Andhra Pradesh.
With an impressive turnout of 300,105 participants, the event organized by the Government of India set the record for the largest yoga session in history.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the yoga session, demonstrating the Common Yoga Protocol alongside participants at RK Beach.
He was accompanied by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, and various central and state ministers.
The event spanned a remarkable 28 kilometers from RK Beach to Bhogapuram, surpassing the previous record set in 2023 in Surat, which had 147,000 participants at a single location.
In response to a tweet from Guinness World Records on Sunday, Chief Minister Naidu expressed that this achievement is a collective honor for all citizens of Andhra Pradesh.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this achievement. Your passion and commitment have been genuinely motivating. This record illustrates what can be achieved when we come together for a common goal. Congratulations to all!” Naidu remarked.
“We did it! A sincere thank you to all participants, TDP leaders and supporters, government officials, and everyone who played a role in this extraordinary accomplishment,” said Nara Lokesh, the Minister for Human Resources Development.
The event concluded the Yogandhra initiative, a month-long campaign by the state government aimed at promoting public awareness.
Starting at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, participants began arriving as early as 2 a.m..
Officials noted that a QR code-based tracking system was implemented, setting a new benchmark for crowd management and real-time attendance verification.
On the eve of the main event, Visakhapatnam set another Guinness World Record for the largest synchronized Surya Namaskar, with 22,122 tribal students participating simultaneously.
Additionally, the state received 21 recognitions in the World Book of Records, showcasing its organizational prowess and public enthusiasm.
Nine Indian Naval warships took part in the main event, symbolizing national unity and pride.
