During an event marking the start of the Olympic Day Run at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, alongside Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya, CM Gupta stated, “If the international community grants us the privilege of hosting the Olympic Games, India will organize this sports spectacle with utmost dedication.”

The President of the Indian Olympic Association, P.T. Usha, was also in attendance.

CM Gupta highlighted that the Olympic Day celebration and run in Delhi has generated tremendous excitement, with thousands of residents actively participating.

She noted that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the nation is consistently advancing towards improved sports infrastructure and facilities.

The Olympic Day Run was conducted as part of the IOC's ‘Let’s Move’ initiative, which encourages fitness and inclusivity. The event drew enthusiastic participation from across the city.

Mandaviya also spearheaded the Fit India Sunday on Cycle initiative, which promotes fitness and environmental awareness.

Last month, the Fit India Sundays on Cycle event saw vibrant participation from 750 individuals, including educators, athletes, fitness influencers, and fitness enthusiasts.

Leading the initiative, Mandaviya cycled alongside Union Sports Secretary Hari Ranjan Rao and a distinguished group of national icons, including Ravi Dahiya, a silver medallist from the Tokyo Olympics, Commonwealth Games gold medalist Deepak Punia, Guinness World Record holder Rohtash Chaudhary (known as the Push-up Man of India), and renowned mountaineer Narender Kumar, who recently ascended Mount Annapurna, the 10th highest peak globally at 8091 meters, in a record time of just 12 days.

The event, themed ‘Cycling with Teachers’, featured educators and mentors from various institutions throughout the city, including schools, universities, and private colleges.

“Teachers are the heroes for our students, and now, you must become heroes for Viksit Bharat. You all can popularize cycling, and I encourage all educators to resume cycling themselves and inspire students to do the same,” urged the Minister.
