Adani Electricity and Adani Foundation Distribute 12,000 Books to 74 BMC Schools

Mumbai, Jan 8 (NationPress) Adani Electricity and Adani Foundation have announced a joint effort to implement a library distribution initiative across 74 BMC Schools located in the P-North and M-West Wards of Mumbai.

As part of this initiative, a total of 12,000 books have been distributed to BMC schools offering instruction in Marathi, Hindi, and English.

"Our objective is to enhance students' skills in presentation, enactment, articulation, and communication through various library activities. This project will support the establishment of 'reading club' activities within these schools," an Adani Electricity representative stated.

"A significant number of students in BMC schools come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Libraries can help bridge this divide by providing free access to educational resources. Previously, many students had limited or no access to books beyond their classroom environment," added a spokesperson from the Adani Foundation.

The spokesperson emphasized that the "absence of available books can considerably diminish reading frequency and overall engagement with literature."

This initiative will assist students in "substantially enhancing their academic performance, cognitive development, and overall well-being by nurturing a passion for reading and equipping them with essential tools for success."

It is anticipated that the program will benefit around 25,000 students and help cultivate a love for learning, improve educational results, and support the holistic development of students, creating valuable resources for future generations.

"As part of the Utthan CSR project implementation, we had reached out to Adani Electricity and Adani Foundation for support in establishing a library project to enhance students' vocabulary," noted Rajesh Singh, Principal of Kurar 2 Hindi Medium School.

He remarked that these books will not only aid students in expanding their vocabulary but also enhance their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities. The libraries will also serve as vital resources for teachers, providing them with additional teaching aids to create more engaging lesson plans and improve overall classroom effectiveness," Singh elaborated.

"I am thrilled about the new books in our library! I can't wait to read them all and discover new things," expressed Pratik Rajkumar, a 6th-grade student from Rani Sati Marg, Malad E.

"This library is a fantastic addition to the school. It will give our children access to a wide array of books and help them develop a love for reading," added Varsha Khan, parent of Iqra Khan, a 6th-grade student at Rani Sati Marg, Malad E.
