Patna, Dec 19 (NationPress) Four police officers sustained injuries during an assault by smugglers while conducting a raid on an illicit liquor manufacturing facility in Supaul district on Friday.
The incident occurred in Narha Tola within the jurisdiction of the Triveniganj police station area of the Nagar Parishad.
As per police reports, the Triveni Ganj police team arrived at the scene following specific intelligence regarding the illegal production and storage of liquor.
During the operation to confiscate and dispose of the locally brewed alcohol, a group of smugglers and their local allies allegedly reacted violently, encircling the police and hurling bricks and stones towards them.
A police vehicle was also vandalized amid the chaos.
The injured officers include Sub-Inspector Sonu Kumar, police clerk Jilani Tailor, PTC jawan Om Prakash Pandey, and Home Guard jawan Babunand Yadav.
All injured personnel were immediately transported to the Sub-Divisional Hospital in Triveniganj via police vehicle.
