Mumbai, Oct 11 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis remarked on Saturday that advancements in technologies such as AI, blockchain, and digital transformation have significantly enhanced transparency and efficiency, impacting both the industrial sector and governance frameworks.
He emphasized that these technological advancements will help mitigate losses for farmers, decrease operational costs, and ultimately increase profitability within the agricultural sector.
“We are in the age of Artificial Intelligence. This technology can foster literacy and equality in society. Technology, digitization, and AI transcend geographical boundaries, unaware of distinctions such as wealth, caste, or language. Thus, this technology has the potential to influence every Indian’s perspective,” he stated during his speech at the inauguration of the 'HP Dream Unlocked' festival.
Fadnavis mentioned that the government has initiated a policy to embrace AI, asserting that this technology is accessible to all, allowing individuals to materialize their ideas.
“The government has established a Digital Media Centre of Excellence in collaboration with HP and plans to further develop a partnership framework that will facilitate convenient access to new technologies, particularly AI, for the general populace,” he explained.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the application of AI in the agricultural domain, noting that a model developed by participants in the Agri-Hackathon held in Pune is capable of analyzing air quality and issuing alerts about potential pest threats to crops.
“This truly represents a game-changing model,” he asserted.
Fadnavis shared that nearly 40,000 young innovators from all over the country engaged in the Agri-Hackathon, with 40 of the most innovative projects being recognized.
He affirmed the government’s commitment to collaborate with these 40 innovative initiatives to enhance the quality of life for citizens, which will have a direct influence on both society and the economy.
Fadnavis reiterated Maharashtra’s position as a leader in Artificial Intelligence and innovation.
“The state is planning to develop an Innovation City in Navi Mumbai to attract investments in the data center sector,” he added.
