Is There More to Ajit Pawar's Tragic Death?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 2 (NationPress) In a dramatic turn regarding the tragic passing of Ajit Pawar, a prominent figure in Maharashtra's political landscape, several leaders from the Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) have raised new questions surrounding the plane crash that claimed the lives of all five individuals on board, including the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister.
Congress representative Vijay Wadettiwar expressed that over 80% of Maharashtra's populace suspects foul play in the plane incident.
He further elaborated on the peculiarities of the crash, particularly questioning the circumstances surrounding the last-minute pilot change of the ill-fated aircraft. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena UBT’s Sanjay Raut indicated that Pawar junior was feeling pressure from within the MahaYuti alliance regarding his intentions to merge the two factions of the NCP - one led by himself and the other by his uncle Sharad Pawar.
In his statement to the media, Wadettiwar remarked, "Approximately 80% of the residents of Maharashtra believe there is something amiss with this incident. The decision to change the pilot was made at the eleventh hour. Additionally, reports indicate there were six passengers aboard, yet only five bodies have been recovered. Such unanswered questions necessitate an unbiased investigation. A CID inquiry alone will not suffice.”
Previously, Shiv Sena UBT leader Sanjay Raut claimed that Ajit Dada was seeking to unify both factions, asserting that the BJP had threatened him regarding irrigation scam documents should he pursue that path.
“He passed away under mysterious circumstances shortly after planning a return to his roots,” Raut added, calling for a comprehensive investigation into his passing.
The BJP quickly dismissed the "groundless and unfounded" claims made by the Congress-led coalition, condemning their attempts to exploit a tragedy for political gain.
BJP MLC Chitra Wagh criticized the reckless allegations and firmly rejected claims of any coercion directed at Ajit Pawar from the ruling alliance.
It is worth noting that West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee was among the first leaders to spark controversy following Ajit Pawar’s demise, alleging that he was preparing to depart from the BJP, only for this tragic accident to occur shortly thereafter.
