Mumbai, Feb 27 (NationPress) Rohit Pawar, an MLA from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has escalated his calls for an in-depth criminal inquiry into the tragic plane crash that resulted in the death of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. On Friday, he met with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Raj Thackeray, the head of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, alleging a potential "conspiracy" and insisting on an FIR against the aviation company involved.

The incident occurred on January 28 when a Learjet 45 attempting a second landing in Baramati, Maharashtra, tragically crashed.

Currently, both the CBI and CID are conducting investigations, but Rohit Pawar claimed that the police are intentionally hindering the process of filing a formal criminal case.

During a press conference, Rohit Pawar disclosed that he has provided Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis with a comprehensive dossier of research papers and technical documents. He stated, "I have shared all relevant evidence and my concerns with the Chief Minister. Since the BJP holds power at the national level as well, I have urged him to discuss this with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. We require transparency, not just a cursory report."

"My meeting with the Chief Minister was to articulate the concerns of the people of Maharashtra and myself. I have submitted all the research papers and documents to the CM and requested him to convey our position to the Union Home Minister or senior officials. I demand transparency in this investigation," Rohit Pawar emphasized.

He expressed optimism that the Chief Minister has requested further documentation and will meet with Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the issue. Additionally, he mentioned that a report from the Central government is anticipated by Saturday. "We do not want a superficial report; we require a detailed analysis. I plan to hold a comprehensive press conference on Monday at 11 a.m. to unveil more facts," he announced.

Rohit Pawar also called for a memorial for Ajit Pawar at the 'Devagiri' bungalow in Mumbai, as well as naming the Pune Ring Road and Baramati Airport in honor of the late Deputy Chief Minister. Furthermore, he insisted on providing permanent employment to the widow of Sudeep Jadhav, the security guard who lost his life in the crash.

Regarding the legal complications, Rohit Pawar explained that while he intended to file the FIR in Baramati, he initially approached Marine Drive to avoid a large crowd. He aimed to file a 'Zero FIR' under the new BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) regulations. When this effort failed, he returned to Baramati and later sought to involve the CID.

After his meeting with Rohit Pawar, Raj Thackeray alleged that senior police officials at the Marine Drive station were obstructed by higher authorities from registering the requested 'Zero FIR' by the Pawar family.

"Why is the government so afraid of a single FIR?" Raj Thackeray questioned. "Whether the incident was caused by fog or a betrayal, the truth must be unveiled. If an MLA's complaint is disregarded, what hope does an ordinary citizen have?"

Raj Thackeray further pointed out the silence of Sunetra Pawar, Ajit Pawar's widow and current NCP President, urging her to voice concerns about the alleged technical failures of the charter company, VSR Ventures.

Rohit Pawar's appeal to the Chief Minister and MNS leader comes at a crucial time as the investigation is currently centered on the Black Box and allegations of "criminal negligence." The state government has asserted that the CID is thoroughly examining all aspects, including potential sabotage and mechanical failure, and will proceed once the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) submits its final report.
