Amaravati, April 28 (NationPress) - On Monday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu characterized the capital Amaravati as the very essence of the state.
He expressed optimism that the establishment of the state capital would significantly bolster the state's revenue.
Naidu highlighted that Telangana derives 70 percent of its revenue from Hyderabad, Karnataka from Bengaluru, and Tamil Nadu from Chennai. He stated, "Andhra Pradesh will also benefit similarly from a well-developed city, which is why Amaravati is being built."
The Chief Minister made these remarks during a video conference with leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the state, in preparation for the upcoming launch of Amaravati construction works by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 2.
He urged the NDA to extend a warm welcome to the Prime Minister and ensure the success of the event.
Naidu, who leads the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), emphasized that Amaravati represents the self-respect of all Telugu people.
He requested NDA leaders to ensure that no disruptions occur for those attending the public rally addressed by the Prime Minister.
"Just like a family dreams of owning a decent home, the state deserves a capital that its people can proudly claim. The NDA's policy of decentralizing development has led to the establishment of Central educational institutions across North Andhra, coastal regions, and Rayalaseema since 2014. We are committed to equitable development across all regions," Naidu assured.
The Chief Minister noted that farmers have voluntarily donated land for the capital's construction, stating that in addition to building the capital, they are being allotted residential and commercial plots in return after development. "We are making the farmers partners in this capital project," he added.
He expressed confidence that setting up industries in the state will create significant employment opportunities for the youth. He noted that improved road infrastructure would enhance transportation and strengthen the economy. However, he cautioned that certain opposing forces are conspiring to mislead the public and undermine development.
Naidu revealed that the Centre has allocated funding for the Polavaram project, a railway zone in Visakhapatnam, and ₹11,400 crore for the steel plant.
He highlighted the implementation of various welfare schemes such as pensions, three free cooking gas cylinders, Matchyakarula Sevalo (serving fishermen), SC categorization, and Anna Canteens. He also announced the issuance of the DSC notification to fill 16,347 vacant teaching positions. Furthermore, he stated that investment support would be provided to farmers under the Annadata scheme next month.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that the establishment of industrial parks in 42 constituencies would commence next month, aiming to realize the 'One Family-One Entrepreneur' initiative in all 175 Assembly segments.
He confirmed plans to advance the construction of the Rayalaseema steel plant soon and affirmed that Visakhapatnam would be developed as the economic capital while Tirupati would serve as a spiritual hub.
Rayalaseema is expected to see development in defense, electronics, automobiles, drones, satellite launches, and green energy sectors, he concluded.
