New Delhi, Feb 17 (NationPress) On Monday, President Droupadi Murmu formally received credentials from the Ambassadors and High Commissioners representing Cambodia, Maldives, Somalia, Cuba, and Nepal during a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The diplomats who presented their credentials included Rath Many (Ambassador of Cambodia), Aishath Azeema (High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives), Abdullahi Mohammed Odowa (Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia), Juan Carlos Marsan Aguilera (Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba), and Shankar Prasad Sharma (Ambassador of Nepal).

The recently appointed High Commissioner from Maldives, Aishath Azeema, had submitted her Letters of Credence copies to the Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in December.

Abdullahi Mohammed Odowa, the new Ambassador of Somalia, arrived in New Delhi on January 16.

As the Ambassador-designate of Cuba to India, Juan Carlos Marsan Aguilera has engaged in discussions with Indian and Nepali officials upon his arrival in New Delhi, focusing on enhancing cooperation, particularly in the medical sector.

On Sunday, Ambassador Shankar Prasad Sharma visited Bharat Tex 2025, addressing garment exporters and attendees.

“Nepali entrepreneurs have showcased their products with eight stalls for the first time in 25 years. I commended their accomplishments and assured support for a similar event planned in Nepal,” Sharma shared on X.

On January 31, Ambassador Vanlalvawna Bawitlung presented his credentials to Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, initiating his mission to enhance India-Cambodia relations. He has since been engaged in meetings with high-ranking officials in Phnom Penh to explore further strengthening of Buddhist linkages and promoting religious tourism between India and Cambodia.
