New Delhi, July 29 (NationPress) Representatives from Timor-Leste, the Dominican Republic, Sri Lanka, and Gabon formally presented their credentials to President Droupadi Murmu during a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.
The envoys who submitted their credentials included Francisco Manuel Compres Hernandez, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic; Karlito Nunes of Timor-Leste; Pradeepa Mahishini Colonne, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka; and Guy Rodrigue Dikayi, High Commissioner of Gabon.
In February, President Murmu welcomed the Ambassadors and High Commissioners from Cambodia, Maldives, Somalia, Cuba, and Nepal at a ceremony also held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Those presenting their credentials at that time included Rath Many from Cambodia, Aishath Azeema from the Maldives, Abdullahi Mohammed Odowa from Somalia, Juan Carlos Marsan Aguilera from Cuba, and Shankar Prasad Sharma from Nepal.
In another related matter, Mariano Caucino, Argentina’s Ambassador to India, reiterated his country’s unwavering support for India in its battle against terrorism while emphasizing the importance of global efforts to combat this threat.
During the celebrations for Argentina's National Day earlier this month, the envoy highlighted that Argentina was among the first nations to express solidarity with India following the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22.
“Having experienced terrorism firsthand, we understand its implications,” the envoy stated, recalling that “in 1992 and 1994, we lost over 100 innocent lives due to bombings at the Israeli Embassy and the Jewish Community Center (AMIA) in Buenos Aires.”
“The Argentine government, under President Javier Milei, firmly rejects terrorism in all its forms. It is an unacceptable threat, and sovereign nations hold the responsibility to prevent and address this issue for the sake of global peace and security,” Caucino emphasized during the event.
He also noted that the relationship between Argentina and India continues to flourish, enhanced by PM Modi's recent visit to Argentina. “During their meeting, PM Modi and President Javier Milei discussed various areas of mutual interest, including shared beliefs in free markets, deregulation, limited government, and upholding the rule of law,” he concluded.
