Hyderabad, June 29 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah has reiterated his commitment to eradicate Maoism from India by March 31, 2026. He firmly dismissed the possibility of negotiations with armed Maoists, urging left-wing extremists to relinquish their weapons and reintegrate into the national fabric.
While addressing the Kisan Sammelan in Nizamabad and inaugurating the National Turmeric Board headquarters, Amit Shah criticized the Congress party for allegedly providing cover for Maoists.
He expressed concerns that the Congress might harbor Maoists seeking refuge in Telangana, cautioning Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy against allowing the state to become a stronghold for these extremists.
The Home Minister invited Maoists willing to surrender to do so, stating, “Abandon violence, lay down your arms, and integrate into the national community. If you refuse to surrender, we are determined to eradicate Naxalism by March 31, 2026,” he asserted.
He emphasized that discussions cannot take place with those who have harmed tribals, policemen, and security forces. “The Congress party advocates for dialogue with them. Our stance is unequivocal: no negotiations with those bearing arms. Surrender, disarm, and join the national mainstream,” he remarked, highlighting that over 10,000 individuals in the northeast have successfully transitioned to mainstream society.
Amit Shah pointed out that in the past year and a half, 2,000 Naxalites have surrendered, yet he maintained that the door to talks remains closed for those wielding weapons.
“I challenge those who defend Naxalites to explain their stance to the families of tribals, policemen, and security personnel who have lost their lives,” he stated.
The Home Minister highlighted the tragic toll of Naxal violence, claiming that over 40,000 lives have been taken in tribal areas over the past four decades, significantly hindering progress.
He asserted that neither the BRS nor Congress can effectively serve the people of Telangana, claiming that only the BJP's double-engine government can guarantee the state's holistic development and welfare across all demographics.
He accused Congress of surpassing BRS in corruption, stating that the populace has rejected BRS due to corrupt practices, while Congress has proven to be even more corrupt.
“Previously, Telangana was the ATM for the KCR family; now it has become the ATM for the Congress party,” he remarked.
Discussing Operation Sindoor, Amit Shah noted India's destruction of terrorist headquarters in Pakistan.
He recounted that under ten years of Congress governance, terrorists from Pakistan freely infiltrated India, executed attacks, and escaped without resistance. He proudly stated that during the last decade, Prime Minister Modi has led three significant operations.
“Following Uri, we executed surgical strikes. After the Pulwama incident, we conducted an airstrike, and post-Pahalgam, we entered Pakistani territory to deliver a strong message,” he outlined.
The Home Minister conveyed that after the Pahalgam attack, the Prime Minister pledged to hold the perpetrators accountable. “While Pakistan threatened with nuclear capabilities, Congress believed nothing would occur. However, our courageous soldiers dismantled terrorist strongholds and eliminated hundreds of terrorists in one night,” he declared.
“Even now, Rahul Gandhi poses questions. I urge him to observe the state of Pakistanis; he will find his answer. They once claimed they would not allow India to rest, yet our leader has obliterated their operational bases,” he concluded.
