What Help Did HM Amit Shah Offer to 5 Chief Ministers Amid Monsoon Fury?

New Delhi, July 4 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah engaged with the Chief Ministers of five states, including Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, due to the ongoing severe rainfall, related disruptions, and damage, and extended his offer of support.

On social media platform X, HM Shah stated, "In light of the intense rainfall across various regions of the country, I have communicated with the chief ministers of Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Chhattisgarh."

The Union Minister indicated that the Central Government is collaborating with state authorities to provide necessary relief and rescue services, in addition to bolstering disaster response efforts.

HM Shah remarked, "Sufficient numbers of NDRF teams have been dispatched to the affected states to assist those in need, with additional reinforcements ready for deployment as circumstances dictate. I assured them of full support from the central government."

The incessant rains experienced in these states over the last few days have led to numerous incidents of building collapses, landslides, and extensive road blockages in various areas.

In the midst of the rainfall in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took to X to express gratitude to HM Shah for his offer of help in combating the rain's devastation.

He noted that HM Shah acquired comprehensive details regarding the heavy rainfall's impact on various disaster-prone sensitive regions within the state, including Shri Kedarnath Dham.

"Given the critical nature of the situation, he promised that the Central Government’s emergency relief teams, including NDRF and ITBP, are being swiftly deployed to ensure that the Char Dham Yatra remains uninterrupted and that pilgrims encounter no difficulties during their journey," stated CM Dhami.

HM Shah also guaranteed ongoing monitoring and all possible assistance in other sensitive districts, as affirmed by CM Dhami, who thanked the Union Home Minister for his compassionate and proactive leadership.

The Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh has been particularly hard-hit due to cloudbursts and flash floods. Areas such as Karsog and Dharampur in Mandi have experienced extensive damage due to the rain's wrath.

In Karsog, the old market was swept away overnight by flash floods, with several vehicles being seen floating in the turbulent waters. Properties situated near riverbanks suffered considerable damage, and many individuals were stranded due to a sudden rise in water levels. One fatality has been reported.

Continuous torrential rains have significantly disrupted daily life across several districts in Jharkhand.

Urban centers like Ranchi, Ramgarh, Latehar, Jamshedpur, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, and Giridih are grappling with severe waterlogging, resulting in floodwaters entering homes in lower-lying regions.

The unrelenting rainfall has caused multiple incidents of house collapses and fatalities from drowning in rivers, reservoirs, and waterfalls.

In Gujarat, heavy rains have pounded various areas since Thursday, as officials reported on Friday. Currently, over 1,060 individuals have been relocated across four districts in Gujarat.

The downpour has triggered flash floods and waterlogging, necessitating evacuation and rescue efforts throughout southern and central Gujarat.

As per the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), 101 talukas recorded rainfall, with 30 experiencing downpours between 1 to 7 inches.

The highest rainfall was recorded in Vapi, located in Valsad district, at seven inches, followed by Pardi with 5.25 inches and Kaprada with 5 inches.
