Mumbai, May 24 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to embark on a two-day journey to Maharashtra from May 25 to May 27.
As per an announcement from the state BJP, he will touch down in Nagpur at 9:30 PM on May 25 and the following day will lay the foundation stone for Swasti Nivas at the National Cancer Institute in Jamtha, Nagpur.
At 1 PM, the Home Minister will participate in a ceremony at the National Forensic Sciences University located in Chincholi, Kamthi tehsil, Nagpur.
He will then proceed to Nanded by 3 PM to unveil the statue of Vasantrao Naik, a former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and has scheduled several meetings as well.
Later, he will address a gathering at the Kusum Auditorium/Shankarrao Chavan Memorial.
At 5:15 PM, Shah will inaugurate an event at the Nana Nani Park Industrial Area, followed by a public rally at 6:30 PM.
On the same night, he will depart from Nanded and arrive in Mumbai at 10 PM.
On May 27, he will take part in the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Shri Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Madhav Bag, at 10:30 AM.
At 1 PM, he will honor the memory of V.D. Savarkar during a function marking his 60th death anniversary.
Subsequently, at 2:30 PM, he will head back to New Delhi.
A senior BJP official noted that this will be the Home Minister's first visit to Maharashtra following the Operation Sindoor and the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan.
“During his addresses, the focus will likely be on Operation Sindoor and the Centre's stance of zero tolerance towards terrorism. On May 23, he stated that Operation Sindoor had revealed Pakistan's involvement in terrorism aimed at India, highlighting that the Pakistan Army responded after we targeted their terror bases,” the BJP official remarked.
The Home Minister also noted that senior officers of the Pakistan Army were witnessed performing prayers and carrying the coffins of terrorists killed in India's strikes on May 7 against terror bases in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Pakistan.
This visit aligns with India's global outreach for Operation Sindoor, as various delegations are engaging with other nations to underscore the threat of terrorism emanating from Pakistan and to affirm India's right to self-defense.
