Anand Kumar, the Patna-based educator behind the celebrated Super 30 programme, officially launched his new digital education platform, "Super Infinity," on Friday, 9 May 2025, at 5:30 pm IST. The launch was accompanied by a cinematic animated video that rapidly gained traction across social media, drawing strong reactions from students, parents, and educators across the country.

The initiative marks a significant shift in scale for Kumar — from selecting 30 underprivileged students annually for intensive IIT coaching to potentially reaching millions of learners worldwide through a single digital platform.

What Super Infinity Offers

"Super Infinity" is designed to go well beyond conventional online classes. The platform focuses on making mathematics engaging through storytelling, visually rich through animation, and memorable by weaving in music and real-life connections. Rather than encouraging rote learning, the platform aims to help students experience mathematics — linking concepts to nature, everyday life, and creative expression.

The platform is also expected to benefit teachers seeking innovative pedagogical methods, parents supporting their children's learning journeys, and mathematics enthusiasts looking to explore the subject in non-traditional ways.

Kumar's Vision: Democratising Education

Speaking at the launch, Anand Kumar articulated the core motivation behind the platform. "Every year, only 30 students can be selected for 'Super 30'. But what about the millions of other dreams? 'Super Infinity' is the answer," he said.

He described the platform not merely as a product, but as a movement to democratise quality education — particularly for students who lack access to resources. This philosophy mirrors the founding ethos of Super 30, which has helped hundreds of underprivileged students secure admission to prestigious institutions including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) over nearly three decades.

Global Ambitions and Multilingual Reach

A defining feature of Super Infinity is its stated global ambition. According to Kumar, content will gradually become available in multiple international languages, with the platform targeting learners from diverse backgrounds and economic conditions beyond India. "It aims to reach students beyond India and targets learners from diverse backgrounds and economic conditions," he said at the launch event.

This multilingual and cross-border approach sets it apart from most Indian edtech platforms, which have historically focused on domestic competitive exam preparation.

The Man Behind the Mission

For nearly three decades, Anand Kumar has been a transformative figure in Indian education. His Super 30 programme, run out of Patna, Bihar, became internationally recognised for its results and its model of providing free coaching to economically disadvantaged students. His story inspired the Bollywood film Super 30, which brought his work to a global audience. In recognition of his contributions to education, Kumar was awarded the Padma Shri in 2023.

With Super Infinity, Kumar is now attempting to scale that mission from dozens of students each year to potentially millions worldwide, combining technology, creativity, and purpose to redefine how mathematics — and perhaps education as a whole — is experienced.
