New Delhi, Nov 27 (NationPress) On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Infinity Campus of Indian space startup Skyroot and revealed its inaugural orbital rocket, Vikram-I. Speaking at the event through video conferencing, the Prime Minister remarked that the nation is experiencing an unparalleled opportunity in the space sector.
“Today, the private sector is making significant advancements in India's space ecosystem. Skyroot's Infinity Campus symbolizes new ideas, innovation, and the energy of our youth,” PM Modi stated.
“With credibility, capability, and value, Indian space talent has carved out a robust identity worldwide,” he added.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the country's space journey commenced “with very limited resources, yet our aspirations have never been confined.”
He pointed out that from a rocket component transported on a bicycle, India has now established itself as the creator of one of the globe’s most dependable launch vehicles. The nation “has demonstrated that the height of our dreams is determined by our resolve, not by resources,” asserted PM Modi.

In the past six to seven years, India has transformed its space sector into an open, collaborative, and innovation-driven environment. This progress is evident in today’s event,” PM Modi stated.
“For global investors, India’s space sector is quickly becoming a sought-after destination. The demand for small satellites is increasing steadily around the world, and space is now viewed as a strategic resource. In the coming years, the global space economy is poised for substantial growth. This presents a remarkable opportunity for India's youth,” he added.
Meanwhile, Skyroot’s Infinity Campus is a cutting-edge facility, providing approximately 200,000 square feet of workspace dedicated to the design, development, integration, and testing of various launch vehicles, with the capability to produce one orbital rocket each month.
The Prime Minister also praised the founders of Skyroot, Pawan Chandana and Bharath Dhaka, both graduates of the Indian Institutes of Technology and former ISRO scientists who have transitioned into entrepreneurship.
