Amaravati, March 10 (NationPress) The government of Andhra Pradesh is set to unveil the Andhra Pradesh Titanium and Strategic Materials Mission (AP-TSMM). Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced on Tuesday that this initiative aims to draw substantial investments and generate thousands of job opportunities, significantly enhancing the state's industrial landscape.
During a review session with the Mining Department at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister engaged with officials regarding the upcoming mission.
He emphasized the objective of attracting investments worth Rs 50,000 crore and creating 40,000 jobs over the upcoming decade. He also instructed officials to analyze the policies of the Central government and other states concerning rare minerals, exploring avenues for value addition.
The Chief Minister urged the officials to position the state as an integrated hub for strategic materials. He proposed that the valuable minerals present, particularly those found in beach sand, should be effectively utilized alongside enhancing value addition.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that the beach sand minerals along the coastline are some of the most precious in the nation. They noted that products derived from these minerals are crucial for numerous key industries.
To optimize the use of the state's mineral resources, officials suggested establishing three major processing parks: Titanium Park in Srikakulam with a production goal of 1.5 million tonnes annually, a Rare Earth Corridor in Anakapalli targeting 25,000 tonnes per year, and an Integrated Titanium and Rare Earth Corridor in Machilipatnam.
Minister Kollu Ravindra, Principal Secretary of Mining and Excise Mukesh Kumar Meena, and other officials attended the meeting.
In related news, a two-day conference for Collectors is scheduled here on March 11 and 12. During this event, the Chief Minister will guide the administrative machinery towards the state's progress.
Discussions will cover various welfare initiatives, growth in GSDP, the goals of the Swarnandhra 2047 vision, infrastructure development, and law and order.
The Chief Minister will present a keynote address and review several pertinent issues.
Additionally, the Chief Secretary, Revenue Minister, Finance Minister, and Deputy Chief Minister will also speak at the conference.
