Andhra Pradesh Secures Assistance from World Bank and HUDCO for Amaravati Development Projects

Amaravati, Jan 3 (NationPress) The Cabinet of Andhra Pradesh convened on Thursday to approve a series of developmental initiatives in the state capital Amaravati, utilizing financial backing from the World Bank, HUDCO, and German funding.
During the Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, it was determined that new tenders would be issued for these developmental projects in accordance with the stipulations of the financial institutions involved.
The Cabinet also sanctioned two engineering projects valued at Rs 2,723 crore in Amaravati.
In a press briefing regarding the Cabinet's resolutions, Kolusu Parthasarathi, the Minister for Information and Public Relations, announced the endorsement of a draft ordinance aimed at modifying the Andhra Pradesh Metropolitan Region and Urban Development Authorities (AP MRUDA) Act 2016.
Upon amending the MRUDA Act, adjustments can be made to the capital's master plan, infrastructure schemes, and zoning regulations in the capital area, explained Parthasarathi.
The Cabinet also approved the establishment of AM Green Ammonia (India) Pvt Ltd in Kakinada.
According to the Minister, while no investors had approached the state in the past five years, there is now a growing interest from industrialists to set up operations, with this proposal being one such initiative approved under the green energy policy.
The company has been granted exemption from stamp duty, he noted.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved plans for solar and wind battery storage integrated projects in Nandyal and YSR districts, along with similar initiatives in Kakinada and Hosur of the Pattikonda mandal in Kurnool district.
An investment of Rs 2,000 crore is anticipated from these projects, which will create jobs for 1,380 individuals. The Minister clarified that the State Government will not allocate any land for these initiatives.
The Cabinet approved a proposal to allocate 40 acres to the India Reserve (IR) Battalion in Jangalapalli of Yadamarri mandal, Chittoor district, under specific conditions. Furthermore, the proposal to allot 6.3 acres in Nadimpalem of Pattipadu mandal, Guntur district, for the construction of an ESI Hospital and staff accommodations was also approved.
The plan to upgrade the ESI hospital in Tirupati from 50-beds to 100-beds, with an estimated expenditure of Rs 7.44 crore, and to hire 191 medical and para-medical staff has received approval.
The Cabinet resolved to release the state's share of the Rythu Bharosa as soon as the necessary funds are made available by the Centre.
Additionally, the Cabinet greenlit a proposal for 19 more positions within the newly-established Pithapuram Area Development Authority to ensure effective administration.
