Amaravati, June 15 (NationPress) The Andhra Pradesh government has initiated a program to offer complimentary coaching to more than one lakh students in preparation for national competitive examinations such as JEE and NEET.
The state authorities will deliver exceptional preparation resources and coaching for MPC and BiPC students enrolled in its 1,355 junior colleges.
This marks a significant first in the state's educational landscape, aiming to support students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in their pursuit of national-level competition, according to the government.
Education Minister Nara Lokesh, son of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, termed this initiative a historic milestone.
The study materials provided—covering Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics—have been meticulously crafted by a team of leading subject experts from both government and private institutions over a span of six months.
To optimize student benefit, the government has also adjusted college hours from 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Students are now receiving a minimum of two hours of focused coaching each day using these new materials. Junior Lecturers have been trained to deliver this content effectively.
In addition to free coaching resources, the government has integrated weekly assessments, performance evaluations, and consistent progress monitoring—best practices usually associated with elite private institutions—now being applied in government colleges.
“This initiative is designed to provide every student, regardless of their background, with an equal opportunity to excel,” Lokesh stated.
“We are fostering an environment where every child in Andhra Pradesh can aspire broadly and prepare confidently for JEE, NEET, and other national exams,” he added.
According to the minister, this initiative will assist over one lakh students across 1,355 government junior colleges, aiming to close the gap between private and public education.
“Our government is committed to ensuring that quality education is a right, not a privilege. Our goal is straightforward: to equip every student with the confidence, resources, and platform to dream big and achieve even greater,” the minister emphasized.
