New Delhi, Nov 19 (NationPress) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended Anmol Bishnoi, who is the sibling and close associate of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, following his deportation from the US to India on Wednesday.
Having evaded capture since 2022, Anmol Bishnoi, now in custody, is the 19th suspect linked to the terror-syndicate orchestrated by his imprisoned brother, Lawrence Bishnoi.
The NIA stated, "Anmol was included in the chargesheet filed by the NIA in March 2023 after investigations confirmed that he had actively supported designated terrorist Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi in executing various terrorist activities in the nation from 2020 to 2023."
According to the NIA's press release, "Anmol closely collaborated with several associates of the Bishnoi gang, continuing to manage terror syndicates and carry out terrorist acts from the US on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, utilizing its operatives locally."
Investigations revealed that Anmol Bishnoi had offered shelter and logistical support to the gang's shooters and ground operatives.
The NIA added, "He was also involved in extortion activities in India while based abroad, with the assistance of other gang members."
The NIA is actively pursuing the investigation under case RC 39/2022/NIA/DLI (terror-gangster conspiracy case led by Lawrence Bishnoi), as part of its commitment to dismantling the connections between terrorists, gangsters, and arms traffickers, including their infrastructure and funding sources.
It is essential to highlight that Anmol Bishnoi faces multiple criminal charges, including conspiracy to murder former Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in Mumbai last October.
Additionally, he is implicated in a shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan's residence in Bandra last April.
His involvement in the assassination of Punjabi rapper Siddu Moosewala remains one of the most significant allegations against him.
