Chennai, Jan 30 (NationPress) Following a visit to the villagers in Melur Arittapatti, Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai addressed the media, sharing his perspective on several matters. He expressed appreciation for the presence of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy in the Melur Arittapatti and Vallalapatti region.
He noted that all 14 Ambalakarars, along with multiple community leaders, warmly welcomed Kishan Reddy into the village, where he was graciously hosted. Annamalai commended this act, stating it exemplified Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to the true essence of democracy and the values upheld by the nation.
He emphasized that the tungsten mining initiative was not the central government’s misstep, as the state administration had neglected to raise objections against the project. Nevertheless, after the local residents articulated their concerns peacefully and democratically, PM Modi, who has consistently prioritized the welfare of impoverished farmers, heeded their appeals and acted promptly, he remarked.
In less than 24 hours after the villagers’ initial visit to Delhi on January 22, the central administration revoked the mining initiative, illustrating the Modi government’s dedication to its citizens. Annamalai asserted that this decisive action highlighted the caliber of governance under Prime Minister Modi.
He then redirected his focus towards Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin, questioning the number of resolutions presented in the Assembly. He accused the CM of endorsing resolutions that contradicted the Constitution. Annamalai challenged the assertion that the state government contributed to the cancellation of the mining project, labeling it as false. He affirmed that it was “PM Modi and Kishan Reddy Garu who took responsibility for addressing the villagers’ issues and taking action”.
On the subject of the ECR Road situation in Chennai, Annamalai pointed out a concerning pattern where victims are portrayed as offenders while accused parties are celebrated as heroes. He referenced the Anna University incident and the ECR case involving four women who were mistreated by individuals in a DMK flag vehicle. Despite the gravity of the incident, the police report minimized the circumstances, attributing blame to the victims.
Annamalai highlighted that when BJP supporters were implicated in a similar case, authorities acted swiftly. He raised the question of why there was no prompt response in cases involving the DMK, emphasizing the deteriorating law and order situation in the state under the current administration.
